April 23
The Rotary Club of Galveston will host its 7th Annual Crawfish Boil on Sunday,
April 23. Presented by the Dr. Leon Bromberg Charitable Trust Fund, this fun
family event will take place at Moody Gardens between noon and 4pm,
under the Big White Tent behind the Discovery Pyramid. Look forward to a
delightful afternoon of good food, live Zydeco music, and the fellowship of
family and friends.
The Lighthouse Charity Cooking Team will be back preparing a superb plate
of Cajun-spicy crawfish, potatoes, onions and fresh corn on the cob, and
hot boiled shrimp will be available as well. Other popular options include
Lighthouse Dogs and barbeque beef-stuffed potato. Beverages include ice-cold
beer, soft drinks, and bottled water, and, new this year—dessert!
The festivities will include a Zydeco Dance Contest and the crowning of the
festival’s Zydeco Dance King or Queen, a Children’s Crawfish Eating Contest,
great raffles, and the popular “Mud Bug Bounce” (aka Moon Walk).
All proceeds generated from this fundraising event will be distributed
through Galveston Rotary Foundation, Inc. to in turn be distributed to
Galveston organizations dedicated to improving our local community’s health,
education and welfare.
