Located just across the street from The Tremont House, Arts on Mechanic
showcases a variety of works from local, regional and nationally known artists.
Along with original works for sale, reproductions of some featured artists
works are available. Also featured is a wide variety of signed and numbered
prints by well known artists such as Matt Rinard, Eric Dowdle and Tom W.
Freeman, who is regarded by many as one of the top naval historic artists in
the world. Unique and whimsical clay dog sculptures by New Orleans artist
Chris Menconi are also available, each signed and numbered. Other artists
represented at the gallery include John Barber, J. Howard, Gabe Prusmack,
Mike Quinn, J. A. Soukup and jewelry by Jana Garcia.

island and Vacation on Canvas Gallery amplifies
the enjoyment of anyone’s visit with a collection
of paintings from the ethereally talented Robert
Peterson. Robert masterfully captures the island
environment in brilliant, vivid colors and precise
detail, and his incredibly lifelike portrayals emit
a soothing calm that has become his trademark.
Along with his original paintings, Robert offers
reproductions of his artwork in canvas giclées,
cards, paper prints, and one-of-a-kind ceramic

Galveston Arts Center (GAC) presents two solo exhibitions that
will continue through Sunday, February 26th. In the downstairs
gallery,
Guts and Bone
by Jonathan Leach utilizes hard edge painting
techniques to conform and control the fluidity of internal and external
references in paintings and sculpture. In both upstairs galleries,
Personal Scapes: Recent Prints
by Luisa Duarte includes a series of
abstract geometric monotypes, digital prints, and small sculptures. On
Tuesday, February 21 at 6:30pm, GAC continues their lecture series
Conversations @ The Center
with featured artists Johnny DiBlaisi and
Eric Todd from the Artist Collective.
