3, enjoy a dazzling fireworks display
over the Gulf. The shows begin at 9pm
at the intersection of 37th and Seawall

7:30pm.
This weekly outdoor summer pop
band concert offers great musical
entertainment for the entire family.
Held at the historic Sealy Pavilion at
Mary Moody Northern Plaza located at
24th Street and Avenue I across from
Rosenberg Library. Wooden bench
seating is provided. Free

Loudermilk can be seen on standup
bass alongside Cary Eaves at the piano
performing popular jazz standards in the

Tremont House Jazz Series:
6-10pm.
Enjoy live music from Trio du Jour in
a relaxing environment in the 1888
Toujouse Bar. The trio performs hot
swingin’ jazz from the 1940s to the
present along with some of their mellow
favorites. Held at The Tremont House,
2300 Mechanic. Free
Every Saturday
Beach Explorations:
10-11:15am. Hunt
for island treasures with one of the
knowledgeable guides. Get a close-up
look at the many critters and birds that
inhabit the sand, surf and seaweed. This
tour includes hands-on seining, searching
for ghost crabs and beachcombing.
Hikes start at the park’s Nature Center,
located on the bay side of the park, close
to the main highway. Held at Galveston
Island State Park Nature Center, 14901
FM 3005. Park Fee is $5, free to anyone
under 13 years.
Galveston Island Brewing Tour:
1pm.
This free Saturday tour explains the
basics of beer ingredients and their role
in creating a delicious locally crafted beer.
The brewery is family friendly and all are
welcome to tour the grounds. Held at
Galveston Island Brewing, 8423 Stewart

Sin City of the South Tour:
4-5pm. Tour
is in a climate controlled 14 passenger
transit van. Topics include bootlegging,
gambling, and prostitution. Sites on the
tour include Rum Row, the site of the
Balinese Room, and the Red Light District.
The tour departs from Ashton Villa, 2328
Broadway. $15 per person. Reservations

JULY 8, 22, 29
Sandcastle Day:
8am–4pm. Visitors
to Stewart Beach can receive free
sandcastle building lessons from
a professional sandcastle builder.
Instructors build sandcastles from
8-11am followed by lessons at 11am,
1pm and 3pm. Participants are
encouraged to bring their own sand
buckets and shovels. Registration is not
required. Held at the Stewart Beach, 201
Seawall Blvd. Parking is $15 per car.
JULY 13-15
GBCA Texas Race Week:
11am. Enjoy
three days of offshore sailboat racing in
the Gulf of Mexico. Can be viewed from
East Beach, and from the Seawall from
Pleasure Pier to East Beach. The start of
each race can be viewed at 11am each
day from Boddeker Rd, about a half mile
from Seawall Blvd.
JULY 21-August 19
“Disaster!” presented by Island ETC:
This musical spoof of the disaster films of
the 1970’s and the era of bell-bottoms,
platform shoes and the hustle delivers
unforgettable 70’s hits like “Knock On
Wood,” “Hooked On A Feeling,” “Sky
High,” “and “Hot Stuff.” Performances are
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings
at 8pm. There will be two Sunday
matinees on July 30 and August 6 at
2:30pm. Ticket prices start at $25. Held at
