Seaside Spring Soiree:
6-9pm. Galveston ISD Educational
Foundation’s (GEF) annual event will feature dancing, heavy
hors d’oeuvres, libations and more. Guests will enjoy a queso
bar and scrumptious mini sliders grilled on site among other
sundry bites. One of Galveston’s favorite local bands, The Line
Up, will set the tone for dancing and fun. The event celebrates
the culmination of GEF’s “Let Your Light Shine” fundraising
campaign benefitting GEF and the Grants to Teachers and
Schools program where financial assistance is provided
to purchase learning materials and implement innovative
programming in Galveston Independent School District
classrooms. Held at the 1880 Garten Verein, 2704 Avenue O.

MARCH 11-12
39th Corvette/Chevy Expo:
9am–6pm. The Corvette Chevy
Expo features major vendors selling parts and accessories
specific to the Chevrolet brand. You will also see world class
Chevrolet show cars beautifully displayed. The Miniature Car
Show includes pedal cars, golf carts, go carts, bicycles, any
small wheels. There will also be cars for sale. New this year will
be two Wash ‘n Shows, one on Saturday and one on Sunday
in the front of the convention center. Held at Galveston Island
Convention Center, 5600 Seawall Blvd. Adult tickets are $15,
children 12 & under are free.
Ocean Star Discover Family Day:
10am-3pm. Each Family
Day focuses on a different theme that relates to the offshore
industry. The information is presented at a student’s level using
activities or experiments. Parents are encouraged to bring their
children aboard and experience family-learning and quality
time at a reduced cost.Held at Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig
Museum, 1900 Harborside Dr. Kids 18 and under free, with

Geocaching 101:
Learn how to find hidden treasure
within the park and around the globe with this short, activity-
based program about geocaching. The one hour program
consists of games, activities, and short hike. Held at Galveston
Island State Park Nature Center, 14901 FM 3005. Park Fee is $5,
free to anyone under 13 years.
Music Night on The Strand:
6-9pm. This free concert features
Almost Endless Summer who will be playing a mix classic rock
hits. Grab your chairs and blankets. Held at the corner of 23rd
and Strand streets at Saengerfest Park. Free
The Rob Landes Trio - Music from the Movies:
4pm. These
returning Grand favorites will take you on a magical, musical
journey through the movies. Held at The Grand 1894 Opera

Next to Normal:
Winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, this show
is a heart-melting and sensitively crafted rock musical about
a family with problems but also who have a whole lot of love
for one another. Due to subject matter, ETC recommends
this production for mature audiences only. Performances are
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. One Sunday
matinee on March 26 at 2:30 p.m. Held at ETC Theatre, 2317

St. Patrick’s Day Festival:
11am-10pm. Holy Family Parish
announces extra-large expansion of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival
with the traditional foods and kid’s games, but now live music
from popular local bands, food trucks, a car raffle, a special
live auction of course, green (and regular) beer and other
beverages. Held on the two city block grounds of St. Patrick’s
Church, 34th & Broadway.
42nd Street:
2:30pm & 8pm. Penned in the midst of the Great
Depression, this all singing-all dancing show resonated with
those longing for a golden age where smiling chorus girls could
tap anyone’s troubles away. Held at The Grand 1894 Opera

8pm. Comprised of five virtuosic and
innovative drummers, this percussion ensemble offers a highly
physical, wildly theatrical, and thoroughly entertaining taste of
