Cinco de Mayo Chihuahua Races:
Stuttgarden Tavern is hosting the First
Annual Cinco de Mayo Chihuahua Races
benefiting the Galveston Island Humane
Society. Open to all friendly dogs under
20 lbs. Registration from 4-6pm. First
race at 6:30pm. Fee is $25 and includes
a t-shirt (while they last). No charge to
watch and have fun. Held at Stuttgarden
Tavern, 2110 Strand.

Galveston Historic Homes Tour:
The
43rd annual Homes Tour opens the doors
to numerous, privately owned, historic
island homes May 6-7 and May 13-14.
This year’s tour also hosts numerous
special events and spotlights new island
construction with specially selected
additional homes both weekends. Held
at locations throughout Galveston.

Satori Annual BBQ & Silent Auction:
3-7pm. Satori Elementary School will
host its annual BBQ & Silent Auction that
features great food, live music, open bar,
face painting, outdoor games and silent

“The Foreigner”:

Island ETC, this uproariously funny
family friendly comedy is about a
pathologically shy young man who is
overcome with fear at the thought of
making conversation with strangers.
Performances are Thursday, Friday, and
Saturday evenings at 8pm. There will be
two Sunday matinees on May 14 and

Rocks
!
Discover how hydrocarbons are
formed from the various processes within
every layer of the Earth, and how certain
rocks tell geologists where to look for oil
and natural gas. Moving through areas
like the soil, volcanoes, and bodies of
water, pretend you are a rock on your
own special journey through the rock
cycle. Create a comic strip of your rocky
story, or learn about the ABCs of rocks
and fossils. Held at Ocean Star Offshore
Drilling Rig Museum, 1900 Harborside Dr.

Yaga’s Wild Game BBQ Cook-off:
11-
5pm. This competition allows backyard
chefs, sportsmen and women, and
outdoor enthusiasts to show off their
culinary skills and enjoy some good old
fashioned fun, fellowship, great food and
live music. The Kid’s Area opens at noon
and includes moonwalks, arts and crafts,
face painting, and Pets on Wheels. Held

Geocaching 101:

Learn how to
find hidden treasure within the park and
around the globe with this short, activity-
based program about geocaching.
The one hour program consists of
games, activities, and short hike. Held
at Galveston Island State Park Nature

free to anyone under 13 years.

This free concert features Heights Funk
Collective who will be playing a mix of
