Ronnie Milsap’s
Farewell Tour
The Grand 1894 Opera House
presents
Ronnie Milsap’s Farewell Tour
,
Saturday, September 16 at 8pm and
Sunday, September 17 at 3pm.
With forty #1 hits, six Grammy
awards, and a dozen CMA awards
including “Entertainer of the Year” and four-time “Male Vocalist of the
Year,” Ronnie Milsap is a true legend. In the early 60s he worked as a
session musician in Memphis and can be heard playing the piano on
Elvis’ “Kentucky Rain” and singing back-up on “Don’t Cry Daddy.”
When Ronnie decided to move to Nashville, he took it by storm.
Starting with his first hit “Pure Love,” he began a remarkable run where
he did not leave the Top Ten for 15 straight years. During that time,
he had a number of pop crossover smashes, beginning with “It Was
Almost Like a Song,” “Smokey Mountain Rain,” “No Gettin’ Over Me,”
and “Any Day Now.”
Not only has the renowned artist been a consistent chart topper and
true icon of the industry, he is also known for his highly-entertaining
live show. Do not miss the last opportunity to see this amazing
performer at The Grand.

Island ETC
Presents a
Thought-Provoking Comedy
Island East-End Theatre Company is pleased to
present the national hit
Sex With Strangers,
a widely
acclaimed comedy written by Laura Eason (“House
of Cards”), directed by ETC Artistic Director Kim
Mytelka.
Due to damage to the theatre’s building
from Hurricane Harvey, the production dates have
changed and this provocative comedy will open
on Thursday, September 28 and continue through
Saturday, October 14.
Sex with Strangers
combines humor,
insight, and a modern
version of the Faustian
bargain—you can sell
your soul but maintain
the marketing rights!
Olivia is an attractive
and under-appreciated
mid-career writer.
Ethan is a hot young
blogger whose online
journals about his “sexcapades” with strangers have
become the buzz of the blogosphere.
When these two become unexpectedly trapped
in a secluded cabin during a winter storm,
opposites attract. The chemistry between the two
is undeniable. As their one-night stand turns into
something more complicated and their literary
futures become intimately intertwined, both writers
confront who they are, what they really want, and
how much they are willing to change to get it.
Island ETC is located at 2317 Mechanic Street in
Galveston. Performances are September 28-October
14, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at
8:00pm, with one Sunday matinee on October 1 at
2:30pm.
Tickets are $30.00 for adults and $25.00 for students
and senior citizens. Group rates are available for
groups of ten or more. To purchase tickets or
for more information regarding group rates, this
production, or Island ETC, please contact the box
office at 409.762.3556 or visit www.IslandETC.org.
*Spoiler Alert:
Sex With Strangers
is not literally
about sex with strangers, but due to subject matter
and language, ETC does not recommend this
production for children.
