7-11pm. The San Luis presents live
music by vocalist and pianist Angelo Tolentino. Held at The Bar
at The San Luis, 5222 Seawall Blvd. 409.744.1500. Free

Jazz at Galvez:
5-10pm. Enjoy live music from the duo Reg and
Cary. Reg Loudermilk can be seen on standup bass alongside
Cary Eaves at the piano performing popular jazz standards in
the bar area. Complimentary valet and self-parking available
to bar and restaurant patrons. Held at The Hotel Galvez, 2024

Tremont House Jazz Series:
6-10pm. Enjoy live music from Trio
du Jour in a relaxing environment in the 1888 Toujouse Bar. The
trio performs hot swingin’ jazz from the 1940s to the present
along with some of their mellow favorites. Held at The Tremont
House, 2300 Mechanic. Free
Every Saturday
Beach Explorations:
10-11:15am. Hunt for island treasures with
one of the knowledgeable guides. Get a close-up look at the
many critters and birds that inhabit the sand, surf and seaweed.
This tour includes hands-on seining, searching for ghost crabs
and beachcombing. Hikes start at the park’s Nature Center,
located on the bay side of the park. Held at Galveston Island
State Park Nature Center, 14901 FM 3005. Park Fee is $5, free
to anyone under 13 years.
Galveston Island Brewing Tour:
1pm. This free Saturday tour
explains the basics of beer ingredients and their role in creating
a delicious locally crafted beer. The brewery is family friendly
and all are welcome to tour the grounds. Held at Galveston
Island Brewing, 8423 Stewart Road. 409.740.7000
1900 Hurricane Tour:
4pm. Explore America’s deadliest
natural disaster on this driving tour. The tour covers stories of
survival, surviving buildings, and sites of destroyed buildings.
Sites include Ashton Villa, site of Isaac Cline’s home, the Levy
Building, Sacred Heart, Bishop’s Palace, and more. Tour depart
at 4pm from Ashton Villa, 2328 Broadway. The price is $15 per
person and tickets are available at www.galvestonhistorictour.

SEPTEMBER 28-October 14
“Sex With Strangers” presented by Island ETC:
This sensuous
and provocative comedy about fame, cyber identity, and big
ambition asks: what would you do, and who would you become
to get what you want? Performances are Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday evenings at 8pm thru October 14. There will be
a Sunday matinee on October 1 at 2:30pm. Ticket prices start
at $25. ETC does not recommend this production for children.
