Calling all Gamers! The Galveston Island Esports Summit will take place November 6 - 8, 2020, at the Galveston Island Convention Center, 5600 Seawall Boulevard, loaded with fun, games, and unique experiences. The event will comply with health safety protocol for attendees.

Galveston’s newest event, the Esports Summit is a fun and educational Pop Culture family event featuring game tournaments, game previews, CosPlay, panels, merchandise, virtual reality, photo ops, celebrities, entertainment, 24-hour Snaju Hackathon, and the debut of WildSide, Esports’ newest professional team. Watch them play and meet the team – SummerPanthers, AutoAssassin22, Winter Wolfie and Danemal Sauce.

The theme of the 2020 Galveston Island Esports Summit is Sci-Fi and Space. Cosplay is encouraged. Special guests will be NASA, the South Texas Squad 501st Legion, mocap celebrity Richard Dolton, Facebook streamers NuggetBabe and Immortal Griff, and Texas Scholastic Esports Federation VP Patrick Neff. Highlights include The Girls Room with programs and games developed by females for preview, mentors and new Spanish language games.

Attendees will learn about motion performance capture, experience virtual reality, play games in pre-loaded computers, observe fast paced game professional tournaments, have the opportunity to play in tournaments, board games, and much more.

NuggetBabe and Immortal Griff, Facebook Streamers, will interact with thousands of gamers daily in action packed and entertainingly narrated social media segments. They will serve on panels and offer insight into successful gaming challenges.

The HackNebula Hackathon, sponsored by Snaju Developers, will take place Saturday, noon, thru Sunday noon, and registration is now open at www.galvestonesports.com. Hackathon competitors will vie for valuable prizes and winners will be announced at the conclusion on Sunday.

Hackathons are designed to challenge computer programmers and others to collaborate on a software project that will be assigned at the event with the goal of creating functioning software. HackNebula is being directed by Zackary Pedersen, CEO of Snaju Developers, and his team.

Gaming tournaments are scheduled for each day of the Summit. Registration will be at the event for $10 per entry – cash prizes. Entries are required to have an event pass to register to compete.
