This free festival features events and activities inside and outside the library all day including a rummage sale, silent auction, furniture sale and The Friends of the Rosenberg Library book sale, where visitors can explore thousands of books to purchase and take home a piece of library history. History books and prints will also be available for purchase.

The festival also has a number of activities for children including face painting, family friendly lawn games like Jenga, cornhole, lawn scrabble and more from the Children's Department. Members of the library team will also be available to show what board games and video games are available to enjoy at the library.

There will also be a nature adventure area where children can explore the magic of springtime with a ladybug observation, live chicken hatchery, and a special butterfly release. Returning this year, the local authors festival will be on the 4th floor in the newly unveiled Trustees Hall. This is a chance to meet and mingle with a variety of local and regional authors.

Authors planning to be at the festival include James Anderson, Christine Hopkins, Forest Riggs, Tommie Boudreaux, John Cooper, Steve Alexander, Pat Jakobi, Jan Johnson, Roy Collins, III, Saralyn Richard, James L. Haley, Jackie Cole, Kerry L. Malone, Mackenzie Finklea, and Mary Claire Haver.

Enjoy live music from DJ Bill and returning this year will be live music from Galveston’s own The Line Up. Food trucks will also be at the festival including Galveston Island Taco Company and Cosmic Ice Cream.

Attendees can enter the Circulation Challenge for a chance to win a $30 gift card. You can qualify by signing up for a library card or if you already have one, check out three items from the library. The first 100 people to enter will receive a special Rosenberg Library umbrella while supplies last.

“Rosenberg Day will be a fun and exciting way to celebrate books, literacy, libraries, and Rosenberg,” said Mike Miller, Executive Director of the Rosenberg Library.

“Whether you are a first time library visitor, or a regular user of the library - there will be something for everyone. Purchase a piece of library history, meet your favorite local author, listen to some great live music, play and much more.”

Parking will be available behind the library facing Ball Street (Avenue H) and along 23rd and 24th streets. Sealy between 23rd and 24th will be closed during the event.
